A prayer vigil will be recited for Dennis Bray Ybarra, 68, of Roswell at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May at 18, 2011, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated for Dennis at 12:10 pm Thursday, May, 19, 2011 at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Bill McCann officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. He passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 in Roswell. Dennis was born on September 14, 1942 to August Bray Ybarra and Veronica Young Ybarra in San Diego, CA. He married his loving wife, Lynne White Ybarra on April 22, 1967 in Chula Vista, CA. He was a Major in the Air Force and manager of the Roswell Air Center. He received his BA from San Diego State University and his Master’s from Abilene Christian University. He was fully accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives. He was a Boy Scouts of America volunteer for 28 years in San Diego, CA and Chisholm Trail Council in Abilene, TX. He also volunteered at Good Samaritans Food Pantry, Harvest Ministries, Vietnam Veterans of America and served on the board of Walker Aviation Museum. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his children, granddaughters, his dogs, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed driving the veterans to medical appointments and had a keen interest in the development in the Walker Air Base Museum. Those left to cherish his memory are his father August Ybarra, his wife Lynne Ybarra, his daughter Melissa Ybarra all of Roswell: his son Dominic Ybarra, his daughter-in-law Andrea Ybarra, granddaughters Jessica and Abbey Ybarra all of Richmond, TX: sister Liz Di Marino and brother-in-law Tony Di Marino of Cañon City, CO, and nephew Mike McFarlane of Elk Grove, CA. Preceding him in death are his mother Veronica Ybarra and father-in-law David White and mother-in-law Peg White. Honorary Pallbearers will be August Ybarra,Tony Di Marino, Nic Ybarra, Michael McFarlane, Manny Franco, Steve Smith and Harry McGraw.
